Pictured is Scarlotta, my latest indoor plant acquisition, which I moved into a sunnier spot the other day. My previous red anthurium was named Scarlet. It feels fitting to name these kinds of plants, which I think of as being especially suitable for adorning some fabulous drag queen’s dressing room.

Well, well, well! You have an amazing way of finding the most sensual flora. My young parts feel they are gazing at forbidden treasure. Gorgeous plant, beautiful color.

Thank you! Now, let’s see how well I manage with keeping this somewhat delicate plant (to this climate zone, far from its own native zone) alive and healthy in the long-run.

From what I’ve seen, I think you have a bit of a green thumb.

Thank you. I’m at least certainly trying to improve my green thumb. It’s often felt at most like I have a partially green thumb.

Deliciously sensual photo, especially of the red bloom in the foreground! I like the red anthuriums (anthuria?) best. My pink one is bigger and lusher, but the red is so much more dramatic! Scarlotta’s blue and white pot really sets off her colors.

Thank you. Plants and tending them, both indoor and outdoor ones, are feeling so soothing to my soul these days.
