National Movement

With a cooperative pact between governors happening here on the Eastern Seaboard and the three states on the West Coast doing the same– including Governor Gavin Newsom declaring CA a “nation state” last week– I am feeling both hopeful and intrigued. The thought of states banding together to eventually become separate countries to fill the vacuum of federal leadership feels strangely possible, even if this may result in civil war. My imagination is a rich one, I admit. But, national movement and restructuring in some actual ways seems to be happening. Hmmm…

  1. You certainly have a more open imagination than mine. The thought of such drastic change scares the hell out of me. The ongoing disruption of life as we knew it has left a lot of us wanting to retreat to the familiar. If anything, any kind of stability that lasts more than this limbo we are waiting to come out of would be an improvement. If we are able to escape, I pray to God that we can leave all the chaos and uncertainty behind. Having said that, I am fairly confident that Charlie Baker has enough self-presence to do what he needs to do without all the drama and attention others need to bring to this situation. It’s exhausting keeping up with it all and does not show good self-leadership on the part of the politicians that can’t seem to stay out of the limelight.

    1. Thanks for sharing your thoughts here. I think you speak for the large majority of folks, including even for me. I just like to imagine beyond, vision out a little bit, if you will, if only to dream and have a bit of fun while doing so. At heart, I’m still an idealist cheek to jowl with my also being a pragmatist.

  2. With tongue in cheek, I believe this may be an oxymoron quite like the name of your site. I love the play on words and the virtual playground you’ve created. Imagining and dreaming, I can’t think of a better place to be!
